Started in 1992, we have grown to be the premier local organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. Our army of volunteers operate a fleet of refrigerated trucks seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. We are not a food pantry; we collect surplus food from grocery and other stores and distribute it the same day to our Distribution Agency Partners. They in turn, provide it to those who need it.
We are a unique nonprofit in that we serve other nonprofits. Our mission is the same as it was back in 1992, a volunteer driven organization that provides food to other agencies serving the needy. The area has seen tremendous population growth but so has the demand for our food.
We are a 501c(3) charitable organization that has been awarded Angel Charity Status by South Carolina. Over 80% of the money we receive goes directly to support our food network operations. Our Volunteers keep our overhead low while allowing our recipient agencies to use their funds on their core missions with no overlap of services.
