Second Helpings is proud to partner with the Beaufort County Human Services Alliance to provide freshly picked and packaged produce. The produce is picked one day, packaged the next and delivered on the third day. Working with Dempsey Farms on St. Helena Island, the locally grown produce is picked up by the Second Helpings’ volunteers, loaded onto the 16-foot refrigerated trucks and distributed to agencies that fall within the geographic area designated in the grant. This program is very important in providing the freshest possible healthy choices for the clients that depend on the partner agencies to provide nutritional food at the food pantries and soup kitchens. This grant Give Where You Live! Thank you! We can’t wait until Spring Harvest.
