Grant received from 2018 Hampton Lake Tiger Bass Race

Second Helpings is proud to be a recipient of a grant from the 2018 Hampton Lake Tiger Bass Race.  This funding will provide fresh produce and protein in 2019 to local agencies affiliated with Second Helpings.  Last year over one million pounds of produce were delivered in the three county area to 60 agencies providing nutritional choices to those served.  This community event in Hampton Lakes has grown sustainably in its five years.  They have donated over $130,000 to various charities within the Bluffton community.  John Geisler, a Second Helpings volunteer for 18 years, won first place in his division at the race.  Second Helpings’ board members Jo Pender and Margie Tomczak were on hand and recruited four new volunteers for Second Helpings the day of the race.
